Davis Weiss with his BELLA VISTA FARMING harvest crew.
My first official harvest at Six Sigma has been just as exciting as the growing season itself. After dodging spring frosts and summer wildfires, we're thrilled to be wrapping up the harvest.
We started in late August with Sauvignon Blanc grapes from Michael's Vineyard followed by Pinot Noir and Tempranillo from the Diamond Mine. The Cabernet came in last, with the last Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc harvested from Else's Vineyard on October 24.
The cool temperatures during harvest time have allowed the grapes to finish ripening slowly, developing complex flavors while keeping the sugar at a moderate level. We expect these wines to be some of our best-to-date and couldn't have asked for a better season.
We hope you'll enjoy the wines as much as we enjoy growing them.
