In his article "Great Wine Via Corporate Management Principles?" Michael Apstein explains the Six Sigma Philosophy as it controls grape-growing and wine making at Six Sigma Ranch. He describes how Kaj selected the high elevation vineyard sites in Lake County, joining more seasoned grape growers and wineries.

With great insight in the winemaking process, the writer evaluates Six Sigma's five current releases, rating four of them in the 90's, with the top rating of 96 for Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo as the runner-up with a rating of 94. Read Article
